Key Responsibilities
As a Software Engineer (ABAP) at Cargill, your responsibilities will include:
- Designing and developing secure, scalable SAP-based solutions
- Applying modern software engineering principles and agile methodologies
- Leading code reviews, sprint ceremonies, and collaboration sessions
- Troubleshooting issues across integration, testing, and production
- Implementing best practices in development lifecycle including DevOps and security
- Driving product demonstrations and stakeholder feedback sessions
- Documenting and sharing modern approaches within the engineering community
- Contributing to digital modernization projects in Cargill’s beef supply chain
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field
- Minimum 3+ years of hands-on experience in SAP ABAP programming
- Strong command over OO ABAP, debugging, and performance tuning
- Experience with SAP S/4 HANA and SAP Fiori/UI5 development
- Proven ability to work independently on complex issues
- Understanding of CI/CD pipelines and secure coding practices
- Agile team experience, including facilitation and ceremony participation
Preferred Skills
- Experience with:
- CDS Views, BOPF, AMDP, BADIs, BAPIs
- IDOCs, ALE, OData, SAP PI/PO, Adobe Forms, MII
- Exposure to Agricultural Commodity Management (ACM) or Commodity Trading
- Familiarity with SAP BTP (Business Technology Platform) concepts
- SAP ABAP certification is a bonus

Based on current 2025 market estimates in India, expected salary range for a SAP ABAP Engineer with 3+ years of experience is:
₹12 LPA – ₹18 LPA
